1. Does all the softwares and Cure cds run on Windows XP?
Yes, all the softwares and Cure cds will run on Windows XP.
2. What are the minimum requirements to run Hompath Classic 8.0 Premium Collection / Hompath M.D. / Hompath Classic 8.0 for Windows?
* Intel Pentium I or higher
* 64 MB RAM (128MB or more is recommended)
* Windows 98, Windows NT4, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP Home or Pro
* 1GB free disc space depending on version of Hompath Classic.
* Parallel printer port or USB port
* SVGA display monitor (800x600) or better
* CD-Rom drive
* Sound card (required for text to speech and multimedia)
* A printer (optional).
3. Which version of Hompath runs on a network?
Hompath Classic LAN runs on network. In fact we were the first to release network version of Homeopathic software. In today's date several colleges, large homeopathic clinics and organizations are using this software. To know more about Hompath Classic LAN version click on the following link.

4. Is 'Hompath Classic Demo' download a full functioning version?
Yes, Hompath Classic Demo is having most of the features to give the full working idea about the software.
5. Does a 'Hompath Classic Demo' demo version for Mac exist?
No, there is no demo version of Hompath Classic for Mac till date but soon we are planning for the same.
6. What is the Hompath security key (Hardware Lock)?
Without the security key, any Hompath Product will not run.
There are 2 kinds of security keys:
1. Parallel model:-
It is a piece of white plastic with screws and a connector at both sides. It must be plugged onto the parallel printer port of the computer when working with Hompath.
2. USB model:-
It is a piece of Violet coloured object with a metallic connector. It must be plugged on the USB port of the computer.
Note: Before Starting your installation process, Make Sure that Your Hardware Lock key is connected to the parallel printer port / USB port of your computer.
7. Is it possible to install the software on two separate Computers?
Yes, you can install the software in any number of computers but to use it, you will have to connect the external lock (LPT Port and USB Port) to that particular machine.
8. In order to use the Software, should one place the CD in the CD-ROM drive or not?
No, once any Hompath product get installed on your Hard-Disk, it is not necessary to place the CD in the CD-ROM every time you want to use the program. However, certain CDs such as Materia Medica Elite, Materia Medica Live requires its presence in CD Drive.
9. How do I Uninstall Hompath Classic 8.0 Premium Collection / Hompath M.D. / Hompath Classic 8.0?
You can safely remove the application from your Hard-Disk using the Uninstall option from the program Manager.
Click on "Start" and then choose "Settings". From the control panel, click on the icon named ADD/REMOVE programs
In the next screen, scroll down to highlight
"Hompath Classic 8.0 Premium Collection" if you are using Hompath Classic 8.0 Premium Collection.
"Hompath Classic MD" if you are using Hompath M.D.
"Hompath Classic 8.0" if you are using Hompath Classic 8.0 single CD Version
"Hompath Vital" If you are using Hompath Vital.
Click on "YES" to the message confirming the uninstallation. This will remove the entire application from your disk.
If the uninstall program cannot remove all the files from this application, you can use "Windows Explorer" to delete the CLASSIC folder in the specified Drive
CLASSICMD folder if you are using Hompath Classic MD
CLASSIC8 folder if you are using Hompath Classic 8.0 Single CD Version.
HOMPATHVITAL folder if you are using Hompath Vital.

Note: You can install and uninstall the software any number of times.
To uninstall the program with saving your list of patient already entered, please refer to User Manual, Patient Backup and Patient Restore in Chapter VI Page 321.
10. Can Hompath Classic 8.0 run on a Mac with Virtual PC?
Yes, here are the minimal requirements to run "Hompath Classic 8.0" on a Macintosh computer G3, G4 or G5 with Virtual PC:
- OS X version 10.2.8 or 10.3 for G3/G4
- OS X version 10.3 or superior is required for PowerMac G5
- Virtual PC V7 with either Windows XP
- 512 Mb or more
- CD ROM drive
- 1 free USB port
- 6 Gb free Hard Disk space
11. How do I restore Hompath Classic 7.0 data into Hompath Classic 8.0 (or data from any older version into a newer version of Hompath)?
After Installation of the newer version, Click on PMS icon. It will direct you to a window where you will be asked if you wish to restore your data from your previous version Classic Version 7.0, Academic 2.0, Ozone 2.0 and Hompath Explorer. Choose your folder where the back-up is stored. And Press YES Button. It will restore all your previous data.
12. How do I Backup critical Hompath Patient Data?
The 'Backup & Restore' feature can be accessed only from the PMS Module:
Choose Backup & Restore - All Patient Selecting this option will enable a physician to take the backup of 'All patients'.
Select Location: specifies the place where the backup should be taken.
Selecting the necessary Backup & Location options click on the 'OK' button to activate the backup process.
Note: In certain cases the Backup process might take a considerable amount of time. For this purpose a progress bar is provided to indicate that the process is in progress and the physician should wait for its completion.
13. How do I restore critical Hompath Patient Data?
Selecting Restore Option from PMS--> Tools ---> Backup & Restore.
This option allows the restoration of classic related data. This includes, Patient Data, Recorded Symptoms, Case Record, Combined Symptoms, Cured Symptoms and Materia Medica Symptoms.
Select Location: This section specifies the place from where the data should be restored i.e. the previous backup folder.
As soon as this option is selected the 'Browse' button gets enabled, thus, allowing the physician to select a folder where the backup will be taken.
Selecting the necessary Restore & Location options click on the 'OK' button to activate the restore process. It will restore your old patient data.
14. How do I transfer my patient data from my Clinic to my home computer?
Take Backup from your Clinic Computer and Put it in your Home Computer, Then Use Restore option to restore all patient data from Clinic to Home.
Note: Use same DR_ID for Clinic Computer and Home Computer.
15. How can I paste a Repertorisation/Screens into a PowerPoint presentation?
There are several ways to pasting information from Hompath to a PowerPoint presentation.
STEP 1
Whether you use Hompath, first make sure that the information is easily readable on your computer screen.
STEP 2
The easiest method in Hompath is to press the "Print Screen" button.
Press that key on your keyboard (usually the right upper row). In some computers you need to press shift-Print Screen.
STEP 3
Paste the contents of the Hompath screen into your PowerPoint presentation.
In PowerPoint insert a new slide (Insert - New slide). Choose a blank slide or one with title only (if you want to use a title)..
Press ctrl-V to paste the content of the Windows Clipboard into this slide.
If you prefer you can edit the picture before inserting it into PowerPoint (such as limiting it to only a section, adding an arrow, etc.)
In order to do so you will need to use a special Image editing program to copy, edit, and then paste the screen contents.
16. Is there a version of Hompath Classic 8.0 for Pocket PC?
No, Hompath Classic only runs on Windows desktops and Laptop computers equipped with Windows 98, ME, NT4, 2000, XP and Mac with Virtual PC Software.
17. How many CDs and Modules are available in Hompath M.D.?

19. Which button should I press in the Restore Classic Database (to restore previous patient’s data) if I am an Old User and if I am reinstalling the software?
If you are old user of Hompath and you are upgrading to the higher version or reinstalling it, then you can restore your previous patient’s data in the software by the following methods.
For the first time when you will click on the "Classic" icon, the following screen will appear


Click on the Browse button
Then select the Path of the backup file.
Press the Yes Button.
In this way you can restore the previous database of patient.
20. Which button should I press in the Restore Classic Database If I am New User? (Installation)
If you are new user of the software then Press No Button, Since you don’t have previous database of patient related to Hompath Software.

21. Which number I should enter in the Dr Id. Box?
You can enter any number as per your choice.
22. How can I Uninstall the Software? (Installation)
To uninstall the software follow these steps
Click Start then click Control Panel
In Control Panel - Select Add and Remove Program and then choose the Hompath Classic MD press Change/Remove button

23. Where can I read about how to install the software?
To view information about how to install software; visit the products page select the Product of your choice and Click its Installation guide link.
24. Is it necessary to add my Registration Number in Dr Id. Box?
No, You can add any Number without any alphabet.
25. How can I save the case?
You can save your case in Quick repertorisation by clicking on the button shown highlighted in the following image.

26. How can I see previously Recorded/Repertorisation Table of a patient?
Select patient Name from Select Patient window and Click on Previous Recorded Symptoms,



From Visit Dates select date of patients visit and click Rep_Table button.



Repertorisation Table of Previously recorded symptoms will be displayed on your screen.
27. How can I add some new symptoms in the previously used repertorisation?
Select patient Name from Select Patient window and Click on Previous Recorded Symptoms,



From Visit Dates select date of patients visit and click Sym_Rec button.


It opens into Select Rubric Window, you can find Rubric by selecting Repertory and Chapter

You can add rubric by selecting the Quick Repertorisation window.
28. How can I use the previous Symptoms of any patient to New or Present Patient?

What is Symptom Forwarding?




Symptom Forwarding feature is used to forward 'All symptoms' or 'a particular’ set of previously recorded symptoms of any patient (and visit date) to the current repertorisation date for any New or to same Patient on a new visit.
This feature is a time-saving repertorisation method as
1. It saves time for recording a symptom again.
2. When you are presented with the same set of symptoms for any patient, you can simply forward few or all symptoms to the current repertorisation using this feature.
3. It can be a time-saving procedure when you have a genus epidemicus and you have the same set of symptoms appearing in all your patients.
